Your wellbeing is key and at the heart of my work…

During our sessions together, I will listen carefully to what you bring, at your pace. You don't need to know exactly what you want to talk about, and you don't need to find the “right” words. Sometimes simply having someone really listen can be the first step towards understanding what you're experiencing.

Whether we’re online or in person, my approach is compassionate and trauma-informed. I’m a person-centred therapist, while also drawing on psychodynamic understanding to explore what can be locked away and causing you pain, confusion or worry. I see you as the expert in your own life, and I won't tell you what you should do or make assumptions about your experiences. Instead, we'll work together to gently explore what feels important to you and what you might need.

I’m a registered member of the BACP and I bring with me over 10 years of experience working alongside vulnerable adults and families experiencing multiple disadvantages and complex circumstances. Throughout my career, I have supported people affected by trauma, domestic abuse, mental health difficulties, homelessness, substance misuse, loss and significant life changes. This experience has given me a real understanding of how complicated life can become when different challenges overlap.

I think of our experiences as layers; what we see and feel on the surface may sometimes be connected to things that sit a little deeper. Maybe it’s past experiences, relationships, beliefs about ourselves, or ways we have learned to cope. We don't need to uncover every layer, and we certainly don't need to rush. Together, we can gently explore whatever feels helpful, at a pace that feels right for you.

Most importantly, I believe the relationship we build matters. My hope is that our sessions feel like a place where you can breathe, be heard and begin to make sense of things without having to pretend that everything is okay.

You can come exactly as you are. We’ll start from there.
